I just returned home from a weeks vacation with my family in Phoenix AZ. We had a great time. the weather was perfect, the accommodations fantastic, time with family and friends, the scenery, the shopping… it was all there. One thing, however, was missing. I didn’t work. I turned almost completely off. Other than checking email a few times and replying to the odd one that needed attention, I tuned out and actually relaxed. I haven’t done that in a really long time! Part of that relaxation was not being on Twitter.
So here’s my question – do you ‘tweet’ while you’re on vacation?
Sure, I could have tweeted about lots while I was away. I could have told you all about the lovely house we stayed in, the pristine community, the poolside drinks, the golf cart cruising, the wine selection at the local Safeway, the stores we visited, the food we ate. But I guess I have to wonder… do you really care?
To be honest, I enjoyed my break from Twitter. I still checked on all of you to see what was going on and saved some of your tweets so I could have a closer look when I returned home. I really enjoyed my time away with family and friends while not having my phone attached to me. Now I have returned home energized and ready to go again. I think time away from our ‘devices’ can be a really good thing.
What about you? Do you tweet while you are on vacation? Do you like it when others tweet while they are away on holidays? I’m curious to know… !!
Oh, and so I don’t leave you completely in the dark. Here are a few pics.

No tweeting even on weekends for me… unless I am working. It’s the only way for me to switch gears enjoy my family and live in the moment. Difficult? yes, but possible.
