Avenue Magazine hosted a fantastic event earlier this year called Speed Design. I was honoured to be included in the list of designers who were asked to be a part of this series of events. There have been two so far and a possible third this September.
It follows the same premise as speed dating. Homeowners spend time with designers at 15 minute internals discussing design and decor dilemma’s or any pressing questions they might have about a current or upcoming project. It’s a great way to get your feet wet in the process of hiring a designer and perhaps get comfortable with one you may be considering working with.
Not only did I have a great time meeting with homeowners and talking with them, albeit briefly, about their projects, I loved the opportunity to connect with some of the fantastic designers here in Calgary. Avenue Magazine did a fabulous job planning and organizing the events so hats of to those who participated in pulling it all together! You can see more photos from Avenue here.
The most recent event was held at Icon Stone & Tile which was also featured in Alberta Home magazine and a little photo of me in action ended up on one of the pages!
If you live in the Calgary area and are planning a project for the fall or have questions about a specific space, this is a great way to meet several designers all in one room and get a jump start on the process for a reasonable amount of money. Stay tuned for more details on future events!

ahhhhh….seems you’re everywhere these days…one of Alberta’s busiest designers! I think we’re lucky we got to know you..who knows, a couple more months and you may not talk to us….hahaha
