I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day. It’s a tad over done for me and why do we limit all the fuss to one day a year aside from anniversaries, birthdays or other momentous occasions?
I bought these prints for a little girls room yesterday and while they do have an underlying Valentine’s theme, I think they are perfectly adorable, and why not celebrate candy hearts and kisses all year long?
Pretty in pink: the bedding and paint colour already in place.
As of late, I’ve been more conscious of supporting smaller businesses so sourcing wall decor and accessories via avenues such as etsy is not only cost effective, you also get something off the beaten path and I love the idea of supporting a ‘little shop’.

If you read my Halloween post last year, you’ll recognize this space. Don’t you find that each year it’s becoming more and more popular with stores, decorations and expectations of goulish delight increasing? Our girls were invited to a halloween party this past weekend so my oldest really wanted to have a scary(er) costume this year. Here she is in her ‘little miss monstrous’ costume we found via Martha Stewart Living, while sitting at our stylishly scary entrance. Can you tell she has the attitude to go along with it?! What are your kids dressing up as? Or maybe the question should be what are you dressing up as? My five year old thinks I should be a ‘Mummy’ :)
Hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!

One of the best parts of working for myself is having flexibility in my day so when my 4yo asked if I could come and talk to her class for career day, I said absolutely!
There were a few stipulations. I needed to bring a craft and I must “dress up in what I wanted to be when I grew up”, so said my 4yo old. The craft I could handle, and I was already doing what I wanted to do when I grow up, so off I went…dressed as a designer of course.
I had so much fun I thought I’d share some photos with you.
I prepared a craft for the kids to decorate a living room and dress a window. All my supplies are ready to go. A window, floor plan and all the cutouts to make the room pretty.
They were all so cute and the craft was a hit. Didn’t they do a great job?! Interior Designers in the making :)
Happy weekend everyone!
I was shopping yesterday at Chapters and found these adorable colouring books that I wanted to share with you. i colour colouring books offer 24 designs in each book, abstract designs and designs from nature. You can use crayons, felt tips, pencils or even paint. The designs range from contemporary florals and fauna to retro swirls and modern camouflage. These hardcover books can be displayed for others to enjoy, however the pages are perforated for a pull-out postcard to send to a friend or even frame and hang as artwork. Either way I’m sure your creative little ones (or perhaps even you!) will enjoy watching a page come to life, because let’s face it ~ don’t we all love to colour!!
Available at Chapters in the bargain section, or online. I have also seen them on Amazon.com.
