Behind The Scenes: Lesley Anton

If you don’t know Lesley Anton then allow me to introduce you. Lesley is a ceramic artist and designer who’s lighting designs are among my favourites. With an organic undertone, Lesley draws inspiration from nature in both texture and colour, and with each lamp handmade there are no two exactly the same. While the lamps are strong in scale and design, they provide a subtle simplicity to any room.

I had the pleasure of visiting Lesley’s studio during a trip to Los Angeles after already purchasing two pairs of lamps and loved the opportunity to see the creative vision and roots of where it all happens. Here’s a peek inside. Her full catalog can be found online and her lighting and ceramics are available through the following locations.

Below is a space we designed which includes a pair of David table lamps in mica glaze.

I like to think of lighting as jewels in a room, whether hanging, table or floor. Being considerate of not only function but visual impact when selecting lighting provides a space with interest adding another layer of texture and an illuminating decorative touch.
