Inspired by: Maui

If asked mountains or ocean I'd choose ocean hands down. While I live very near the mountains, and there's no question they are magnificent , I don't necessarily feel a draw. The ocean on the other hand is like a magnet. I could sit and watch it all day. In fact I practically have. We have spent time at the beach until the sun went down. One of my favourite things to do is watch the sun set over the horizon. I find the ocean fascinating. The sounds, the movement, the colour, the life it has within it. There's just something about it. I'm also happy I don't live near it. Because it makes seeing it that much more special.

We visited Maui over New Years, a favourite destination of ours. We sat on the beach almost every day. The kids exhausted themselves in the waves, we all tried paddleboarding for the first time (success!), ziplined our way through the hills and we snorkeled in the Molokini crater. Pure. Bliss.

Upon arriving in Maui, our first stop was Pa'ia to visit Mama's Fish House and on the way visited Ho'okipa Beach Park to see the turtles. The beach there was so pretty. I love the textures in this photo and how the overcast sky, teal water, rugged rock and sandy beach all compliment each other in perfect harmony. The colour combinations and textures have inspired us to bring that feeling home with our mood board below. Enjoy!
