NFDI Decade in Review

2020 brings not only a new year, but a new decade, and boy has it been a big one. Ten years is a long time to look back on. I started blogging in 2009, so a crazy ten + years ago. I have no idea what my first post was about, but I’m sure there was a shy undertone and most certainly a vulnerability.

2009 was a pivotal year for Nyla Free Designs as I joined the realm of social media, blog/ website included. That was the year I really started to put myself out there. At the time, Twitter was my go-to. I met so many new people, reconnected with others, and opportunities started to come my way.

It was a year later that we were published in Western Living, our first print magazine. And two years later I was honoured to be a part of a new online magazine called Dabble. Unfortunately it doesn’t exist anymore, however the opportunity is one I’ll be forever grateful for.

From these two moments, to moving out of my home office all the way to our first national print publication, the last ten year have been full. Full of excitement, enthusiasm, hard work, failures, and of course successes.

We’re highlighting and celebrating the stand outs from each year in recognition of a decade we humbly look back on with utmost gratitude.

All I can say is WOW.

Thank you for being part of our journey. For cheering us on and supporting us along the way. We are entering the next decade with open arms.

💛
