Our Lake View clients not only wanted to update their ensuite, they wanted to create a space that functioned well for them. We turned this space on its side and embraced every square inch.
What was once the walk-in closet, is now the ensuite. We flipped the two spaces and relocated the toilet, creating a water closet with a pocket door.
A peek into the process
A freestanding tub and shower were a must. Due to the allotted space we combined the two into a wet room. This space is centrally located in the ensuite, which in turn creates a corridor for the new closet and makeup area.
The previous ensuite became the closet. Floor to ceiling, wall to wall millwork fills the space. The closet also houses a small makeup vanity.
Savvy space planning, and creativity with material selections has given this space a new lease on life, and our clients a welcome retreat to start and end each day.

Transformation Highlights
This lakeside Calgary renovation reimagines the primary ensuite — turning the layout on its side to embrace every square inch while introducing a new aesthetic rooted in storage, function, and ease.
layout
What was once the walk-in closet, is now the ensuite. We flipped the two spaces and also relocated the toilet, creating a water closet with a pocket door to avoid door swings in a small space. This left enough room for a double vanity in closer proximity to natural light.
inspiration
A nod to the prairies and a celebration of their lake views within the city inspired the colour palette of golden hues, cool blues and warm wood.

Kind Notes from our Client
“Working with Nyla and her team completely changed how we use and enjoy our primary suite. She really took the time to understand how we live, our daily routines and how much we value the limited lake views we have, and designed the space around that. I love spending time in my new closet and en‑suite, enjoying the coffee station and vanity tucked away from the rest of the house. Layered with meaningful touches, it feels like a quiet retreat just for us. Even with the unexpected challenges of our 1970s home, Nyla created a space that feels calm, personal, and truly ours”
