3 Ways to Style a Mantle For Christmas

I don't have a mantle (insert tears here). It's on the to-do list of renovations in our current home however not a very high priority in the grand scheme of things. I mostly miss it around Christmas when it's time to hang stockings and decorate. I love the idea of styling a fireplace all pretty for the holidays, so cosy and festive. For now I'll live vicariously through those who do have one which is why we enlisted the help of Alex and her fireplace to share with you 3 ways to decorate your mantle for Christmas. Enjoy!

COZY

Stockings | Live Greenery (Holly Days BoutiqueCalgary Southland Drive and Mcleod Trail) | Hurricanes and Candles | Lights

Keep it casual and simple with live greens and a few accents. Candles in glass hurricanes are lovely as the candlelight reflects off the glass for a warm glow. Pillows next to the fireplace are perfect for those who really like to cozy up to the heat. Like me!

Tip: Keep live greens fresh by misting them a few times a week. If you can, keep your house temp a little on the cooler side during the day (if you're not home), to avoid premature drying.

PLAYFUL

Pom pom garland is all the rage and a perfect addition to your mantle for a playful look. Whimsical candles give a feeling of exaggerated candies and the combination of modern copper trees with white tree candles is the perfect mix alongside a traditional evergreen. So fun!

Tip: I love shaped candles such as the trees pictured above however they do tend to drip in an irregular fashion. Please be mindful of their placement and best to put something underneath to catch the wax as to not damage the surface.

SOPHISTICATED

Live Greenery (Holly Days Boutique Calgary Southland Drive and Mcleod Trail) | Stockings | Stocking Holders | Lights | Candle Holders

There's just something about taper candles that offer a level of sophistication. It's as simple as varying heights and mixing with live greens to create a festive feel to your mantle at Christmas. Stockings of course are a must, and with the assistance of reindeer stocking holders you're all set to welcome the holidays.

Tip: Candles as pictured above are a great accessory all year long, so a worthwhile investment!

I hope this has inspired you with some tips to decorate yours, if you have one! Otherwise you can dream along with me.
