Fashion to Interiors: Kaela Kay and Sheila Bridges

We loooooooooove the connection of fashion and interiors.

Whether it’s a seasonal launch, an inspiring ad campaign, or all around amazing outfit, we love connecting fashion design to an interior image. We don’t typically go looking for it, at times it simply jumps out at us and that’s exactly what happened here. There’s no doubt a connection, and one so undeniable, between Kaela Kay and Sheila Bridges exists.

We shared about Sheila Bridges in our previous post, “Hitting Pause”, one of the many Black creatives we have been introduced to over the last few weeks. Sheila Bridges, based in Harlem, New York, has an unapologetically beautiful design sense about her. Each of her portfolio projects are so different one to the next (which I love!), however each having an underlying specialty that only Sheila brings.

Now meet Kaela Kay, a Toronto fashion brand by designer Catherine Addai, who has blown my mind with her use of colour, pattern and shapes in her clothing designs. African inspired with a modern twist, Catherine designs feminine and classic pieces with her Ghanaian roots at the helm of her creativity.

Both women hone their craft and speak their truths. The connectivity of their creativity is contagious. See for yourself below!
