A home should fuel your senses. The touch of fabrics, visuals of beautiful design, the taste of good food and drinks, sounds of music or conversation, and last but not least, a lovely scent. I’ve lit more candles in the last year, than ever before. As we all spent more time in our homes, it became a regular occurrence for me, both for ambiance, scent, and a subtle glow. It felt good to have a candle lit as the day came to an end.

As we brainstormed about new introductions for our NFDI shop, it was a natural thought to include a candle. Partnering with milk jar, a Calgary small business, woman owned, and operated company that is doing great things, is also something we’re thrilled about. ⁠Milk Jar candles are hand-poured & clean-burning, made with coconut soy wax, and natural wood wicks.

When creating our candle, we imagined it fitting seamlessly into homes, with respect to both aroma, and aesthetic. We wanted the look to fit into any decor as a lovely detail, in and amongst coffee table accessories, bookshelves, bedside tables, bathroom vanities, kitchen islands, you name it! We wanted the smell to be subtle, sophisticated, intentional and welcoming, not overpowering or strong.

I’ve been burning citrine in my home for the last several weeks, to test it out, and get a feel for it. I may be biased, but I hope you love it as much as I do.

The name citrine, is a shade of yellow (surprise, surprise!), symbolizing hope, hospitality, friendship, and happiness. This sounds like a dreamy combination to me!
