Introducing The New Nyla Free Designs Inc.!

We started planning our 20th anniversary celebration, and rebrand in the summer of 2021, knowing it would take time, thought and clarity in defining, and recommitting to our brand story. It has after all, been 20 years, and a lot has changed. Our core values, however, have not wavered. Honing in on the essence of Nyla Free Designs, we dug deep into what we stood for, and how we wanted to present ourselves both in, and out of the interior design community. Building relationships, and designing homes with soul, resulting in liveable luxury, continues to be our focus. Now, it's clearer than ever this is who we are, and what we strive to bring forth through our creative efforts.

Introducing the new Nyla Free Designs Inc.!

BRAND AESTHETIC

The term aesthetic is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of beauty, art, and taste, alongside the creation and appreciation of beauty.

We create beautiful spaces, with a focus on how our clients live, how they want to feel, and the things that matter to them in their homes. Our brand is no different. We strive to create a feeling, a comfort and confidence, all the while pushing boundaries and creating moments of unexpectedness. Our new brand aesthetic is exactly that.

WHY YELLOW?

When Nyla Free Designs started 20 years ago, marketing and branding were hardly a topic of discussion when choosing a name, business card design, font or colour combination. It seemed as though these conversations were for large companies and retailers, not small business owners or entrepreneurs. After I joined Twitter in 2009 my business world changed with respect to understanding the importance of marketing and brand building. While I did rebrand, alter my company name slightly and adjusted my logo, the colour yellow has been a mainstay from the start.

Yellow was a personal preference, not an intentional colour selection, however, it has become an integral part of our brand for many reasons and I’m still so in love with the colour! Learn more during this impromptu conversation with Module Creative Agency.

BRAND COLOURS

Throughout this rebrand, it was important to keep the colour yellow at the forefront of our aesthetic. It’s become a key component of recognition, and brand awareness for us over the years. We did however, want to add other colours to compliment it, in a classic, yet unexpected way. We’ve paired our beloved yellow with tried and true staples, and a slight twist of colour, resulting in a feeling of sophisticated freshness.

LOGO & FONTS

We’ve selected new fonts, and designed a new logo for our brand. You’ll start to see more of the fonts through our emails and blogs, but for now, we’re excited to introduce our updated logo and brand name!

BRAND FEELING:

I’ve often joked about leaving a little bit of myself in our projects. While that may sound odd, we put our heart and soul into each project, resulting in an emotional attachment. We can’t help it! The art of designing homes with integrity, transparency and soul, entirely specific to our clients needs and wants, means we’re invested and passionate about each and every project. It’s always bittersweet when a project comes to an end, but the silver lining is we more often than not keep in touch. When we connect with our ideal client, we know we’ve started a relationship that will last for years to come.

KEY WORDS:

We have seven key words that define our brand and ultimately our projects. Each are rooted, layered and emphasized differently depending on each project, however they’re all part of the end result. Ultimately these words are the overarching aesthetic, and feeling we strive to achieve.

MISSION:

We design homes you feel good in. With a purpose filled, thoughtful approach, we are committed to creating spaces 100% tailored to each client. Our process is rooted in core values, and driven by relationships, resulting in homes as individual as the family who lives there.

VISION:

To be a leader in the interior design and lifestyle industry, known for our creativity, authenticity, professionalism and expertise, as a go to resource to learn, work with, or simply be inspired.

BLOG

NYLA’S NOTEBOOK

Last but not least, our blog has turned into a notebook, a place to share my thoughts, inspiration, ideas, design details, favourite finds, behind the scenes and so much more. Writing has become an additional creative outlet for me, and somewhat therapeutic. Interior design is a journey of windy, sometimes bumpy, roads with the most incredible views. A notebook sounds like the perfect place to document this adventure. I’d love to have you travel along with me.
